HBO Unveils New ‘The Newsroom’ Trailer
HBO has released the second trailer for ‘The Newsroom’.
The new drama comes from Aaron Sorkin, creator of The West Wing and screenwriter of The Social Network.
The Newsroom is a fictional behind-the-scenes look at the people who produce a 24-hour cable news network.
The storyline revolves around a news anchor, Will (Jeff Daniels), his new executive producer (Emily Mortimer) and newsroom staff (Dev Patel, Alison Pill, John Gallagher Jr, Olivia Munn, Thomas Sadoski) and their boss (Sam Waterston).
Jane Fonda also stars in a recurring role as Leona Lansing, the CEO of Atlantis World Media, the news network’s parent company.
The series, which launches on HBO in June, tracks their idealistic mission to do the news well in the face of corporate and commercial obstacles, along with their own personal problems.
In the second trailer for the highly anticipated show, Daniels’ Will makes the bold statement to change his approach in front of the camera…
“The reason we failed isn’t a mystery: We took a dive for the ratings, I’m quitting the circus, switching teams, I’m going with the guys who are getting creamed”
