This week, ‘Glee’ boss Ryan Murphy announced the characters that would be leaving the series next year.

Since his announcement, the actors have been reacting to the news on Twitter and in various interviews. Here, rukkle takes a look at their reactions and examines news of a possible spinoff!

As we reported earlier this week, the names of the actors not returning to ‘Glee’ season four have been announced by series boss Ryan Murphy in an interview with ‘The Hollywood Reporter‘. Among those confirmed to be leaving are Chris Colfer, Cory Monteith and Lea Michele.

Chris Colfer, who received his second Emmy nomination for playing Kurt Hummel on Thursday, says while the news wasn’t unexpected, it was still shocking to hear it.

“I think it was something we all knew was coming, just because Ryan has said from the beginning that people would be graduating, It’s definitely not my choice, but I absolutely respect it and understand why it has to happen.”

He also told Access Hollywood that he heard the news “Yesterday on Twitter”!?! He added…

“I didn’t necessarily know that it was going to be our last season next year, I knew something like that was coming up eventually. I mean, we can’t be there forever.”

In another interview with Extra TV, he remarked “Do I want to leave the show? Absolutely not. This is home for me. But I understand that there’s time for a conclusion.”

Meanwhile, Colfer’s costar Lea Michele is trying to keep her spirits up after Murphy made the news public this week. The actress took to her Twitter to say…

A Glee Spin-off?

And probably one of the most interesting stories to come from this weeks revelations is the rumour of a possible Glee spinoff! The aptly named ‘RumorFix‘ reports it has learned exclusively that when Lea Michele and Chris Colfer graduate from McKinley high, they are getting their own spin-off!

The website says that Michele and Colfer will star in a spinoff show that places their characters in New York, a storyline that began near the end of the last season.

Whilst in New York for Nationals, their characters snuck onto the stage of ‘Wicked’ and sang one of the songs from the show. At that point, the characters decided that, following their graduation, they’d move out to the city.

While this has not been verified by any producers publicly, Ryan Murphy did say the following in his initial announcement of the changes this week in ‘The Hollywood Reporter’…

“I’m much more interested in Lea’s character, not so much on her relationship with Finn, but more on what her dreams are beyond high school and how she plans on getting them,”

And Lea Michele tweeted the following…

Reading WAYYY to much into this do you think??! Watch this space!

Would you like to see a Michele/Colfer spin-off? or do you think the Characters should vanish after they walk out of McKinley High at the end of season three?
