Rihanna Suing Over LA Home Defects
Rihanna is suing over a hillside home that she claims has serious structural defects that rendered the property uninhabitable.
The singer, who spent a reported $6.9 million on the LA mansion in 2009, has allegedly said the woman she bought it from deceived her by failing to make her aware of various major defects with the property.
Rihanna has this week filed a lawsuit against the former owner of a home she purchased in 2009.
The ‘S&M’ singer’s lawsuit claims she would not have paid $6.9 million for the home if she had known about its major structural problems.
She claims water leaked into several rooms of the house from a balcony that lacks the proper slope and drainage after a rainstorm in early 2010, leaving the home “uninhabitable”.
Rihanna is believed to have stated that “the actual value of the property at the time of purchase, taking into consideration the extensive construction defects… was millions of dollars less” than the price that she paid for it.
In addition to the former owner, the 23-year-old is also rumoured to be suing the inspector, real estate agents and engineers involved with the house.
