Tobey Maguire knows when to throw down his cards and settle up…

The ‘Spider-Man’ actor has decided to fold ‘em and settle a lawsuit over his winnings from a convicted con man during high-stakes Hollywood poker games.

Actor Tobey Maguire has reportedly agreed to settle a lawsuit filed over more than 311,000 dollars he was paid by a convicted Ponzi scheme operator in Texas.

Maguire was one of many Hollywood insiders who participated in high-stakes poker games at luxurious Beverly Hills hotels with Brad Ruderman, the CEO of Ruderman Capital Partners.

The suit claims that Maguire took in more than 300,000 dollars in winnings, which had allegedly been embezzled by hedge fund manager Ruderman, who is currently in jail.

Twenty-one other people, including high profile actors like Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon and director Nick Cassavetes, were named in the June lawsuit, which was filed by trustees for Ruderman’s victims after he filed for bankruptcy.

If approved by a judge next month, Maguire will pay the money to a bankruptcy trustee who is trying to recoup money that former hedge fund operator Bradley Ruderman bilked from investors to finance his lavish lifestyle.

The money will be used to repay victims of the scheme, which Maguire and other players were unaware of.

Maguire signed the settlement agreement himself on November 18, and if approved by the judge, he will be released from ongoing case.
