rukkle presents all of the week’s best new trailers.
In typical post-Oscars form, here’s a bunch of previews of blockbuster season…
…for those who are tired of high-class, high-brow awards fodder. We’re all ready for a bit of fun I think!
We’re excited about the new trailer for The Avengers which has seemingly changed it’s name to Avengers Assemble, and there’s a teaser trailer for Neighborhood Watch, a big-budget comedy with a cast of Hollywood royalty and also, a very uninformative but delightful teaser for Despicable Me 2.
Watch our round-up of the latest top trending 2012 film previews below and let us know your thoughts in the comment section at the end.

The Avengers
This trailer is very action-heavy and veers towards Michael Bay territory but hopefully that’s just an attempt to market to teenage boys.
I want to see more quipping and witty banter please! Make sure you watch until the end where there’s a very WTF surprise!
Neighbourhood Watch
Hollywood comedy dream cast, Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and The I.T. Crowd’s Richard Ayoade come together for this suburban comedy/sci-fi.
This trailer doesn’t give away much (except that Ayoade wears glasses under his sunglasses, giggle!) but we’re looking forward to seeing more.
Bernie
rukkle was lucky enough to see this at the 2011 London Film Festival and loved it! Fun, warm and wacky; proof that the truth is sometimes stranger than fiction.
Bernie is the nicest guy in town so nobody suspects a thing when he kills his cantankerous elderly “companion” and pretends she’s still alive so he can still avail of her luxury lifestyle.
Starring Jack Black and Shirley Maclaine, we think this one’s a winner.
Despicable Me 2
This new teaser trailer is very odd and gives very little away about the sequel to the massively popular Despicable Me. But it’s fun, so watch it!
Frankenweenie
Do we think it’s a bit of a cop out that Tim Burton is remaking his own short film from the 80′s into a feature length animation?
Maybe. But it still looks beautiful! Next thing you know, he’ll be remaking this.
John Carter
Yet another John Carter trailer. Word-of-mouth on this has been very poor. Maybe Disney needs to realise that weird creatures and people painted blue does not equal Avatar.
But perhaps I’m being unfair. John Carter spinning a boulder around over his head is quite the image.
Veep
I know we don’t usually do TV but here’s the trailer for Julia Louis Dreyfus’ new political satire, Veep, where she plays the U.S. Vice President. It looks so fun, we thought we had to share.
And Finally..
Does anyone else wish this was a real movie?
