Prison Break Star Wentworth Miller Talks Coming Out
Wentworth Miller talks coming out and how his public persona conflicted with who he was.
Miller believes many of his fans knew he was gay, but he didn’t want to confirm.
Prison Break star Wentworth Miller has spoken about coming out in a recent interview, where he shares about how his public persona was in conflict with his true self.
“After Prison Break, I came to grips with the fact that my public persona was in misalignment with how I actually felt.”
Miller first came out to a few people, then family, but didn’t want to tell fans.
“I was out to a handful of people in my twenties, and once I hit 30, I was out to family and friends. But professionally, I was feeding a fantasy. I created this air of ‘We don’t address that thing.’”
Miller admits that he knows fans thought he was gay, but he wasn’t prepared to admit it.
“My face was on billboards, and I thought it was my job to act a certain way. But I think audiences knew to a certain degree.”
Miller has recently been announced to guest star in DC Comics’ new television series, The Flash, as Captain Cold.
