President Obama Sending Openly Gay Delegates To Olympics
President Obama has announced his delegates for 2014′s Sochi Olympics, two of them are openly gay.
He announced that he will not be attending the opening ceremonies nor will the Vice President or the First Lady.
American President, Barack Obama, has announced his selection of delegates that will attend the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. In what appears as a statement against their anti-gay laws, he has chosen two openly gay delegates to attend.
President Obama has openly denounced Russia’s anti gay laws. In September, he met with LGBT advocates in St. Petersburg, Russia during the G20 summit.
Further demonstrating his lack of support for the Olympic games, he has announced that he, the Vice President, and the First Lady will not be attending the opening ceremony for the Olympics. This will be the first time since the 2000 Olympics that all 3 members of government will not be represented.
Twitter is supporting Obama’s decision to not attend and to send gay delegates,
Marvellous. Obama sends Billie Jean king to be us representative at Sochi games. http://t.co/8ae7YW6HTq
