Star Trek actor Chris Pine calls on the US government to do more to protest Russia’s anti gay laws.

Pine believes that sending openly gay athletes as delegates is not enough of a protest.

While promoting his latest movie, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Chris Pine commented on the decision to send openly gay American athletes as delegates to the Sochi Olympics in Russia. Pine said,

“I think we should do more than just send gay Olympians there,”

Pine reflected on the anti gay laws that exist in Russia. He commented that,

“What’s happening there in terms of gay rights or the lack of it is extraordinary and awful.”
