Attention, ladies… George Clooney is back on the market!
After battling weeks of breakups rumors, George Clooney and Elisabetta Canalis have officially called it quits.
The actor and his longtime girlfriend, Italian TV presenter Elisabetta Canalis, have announced they’re splitting up. The former couple released a joint statement on Wednesday saying…
“We are not together anymore. It’s very difficult and very personal, and we hope everyone can respect our privacy.”
The couple began dating in July 2009 and were last spotted out in May to celebrate the actor’s 50th birthday.
While the cause of the breakup is unknown, Elisabetta recently declared she “will be married someday,” despite her now-ex-boyfriend’s infamous anti-marriage stance.
“I am a firm believer in marriage, in the future I will be married” the beauty told Italy’s Chi magazine in an interview published earlier this month. “But for the time being, I am happy as I am.”
Meanwhile, George has remained steadfast in his commitment to remain single. Speaking during an interview on CNN with Piers Morgan earlier this year, the actor said…
“I hate to blow your whole news story, but I was married… Yeah, so I’ve proven how good I was at it, and I just. … I’m allowed one.”
George was married to actress Talia Balsam who is currently known for her role as Mona Sterling on AMC’s “Mad Men”, from 1989 to 1993, but the marriage ended in divorce.
