Dr. Conrad Murray has been sentenced to the maximum term of four years in jail, in the death of Michael Jackson.
Murray was sentenced on Tuesday, three weeks after a jury convicted the cardiologist of involuntary manslaughter.
Following his November conviction for involuntary manslaughter in the death of patient Michael Jackson, Dr. Conrad Murray was sentenced on Tuesday morning to four years in prison.
Delivering the sentence, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor chastised him for a “horrific violation of trust” in caring for Jackson. He said…
“He violated the trust of the medical community, of his colleagues and of his patient and he has absolutely no sense of remorse, absolutely no sense of fault, and is and remains dangerous.”
A Jackson family attorney read a statement before the sentencing, saying…
“We respectfully request you impose a sentence that reminds physicians they cannot sell their services to the highest bidder”
California law means that Murray will serve his time at an LA County Jail, where he is expected to only serve half of his four-year sentence.
